we're still here

On our way to 2013, I try to explain to people that I still can't believe how much faster time goes by once you have a child. It's way faster than I could ever had expected!

The holidays were good, we got pretty much EVERYTHING except a vacuum but we got some awesome gift cards that will be used to purchase that. We are putting together our 2013 goals, not resolutions (because I feel those are easy to give up on, but goals! What are you hopes/goals for next year? Do you do a resolution ever year?

Now that the holidays are (ALMOST) over I'm going focus on getting back on track with my weight loss. For those of you who don't know I have lost 85 pounds so far since my son was born in September of 2011. I have about 50 more pounds I would like to lose, so I hope I reach that goal this year! Luckily I have some of my favorite protein in stock (ItWorks Chocolate Pro-Fit).

I have had such an amazing years and am loving seeing my page views grow, thank you to each and every one of you who does take your time to read any post by me. If you have a blog I would love to read it too!

Dry Scalp

So since I was about 16 I have hated to wear black shirts mostly in fear of those little white flakes showing up. When I was a teenager it was much more embarassing however even as an adult it's still not too pleasant. With dark hair it's much more noticeable nad you can only use the "oh it must be my hairspray clumping" excuse so many times.

SO when I received my most recent box courtesy of Influenster I was so excited to open it up and see two full size bottles of Head & Shoulders damager rescue. I have tried EVERYTHING from vinegar to egg yolks to almost every dandruff shampoo you can buy and still I can't seem to kick the dry scalp.

I am super excited to try this product out and let you know how it turns out. Do you suffer from dry scalp? How do you deal with it?

Also if you have not heard of Influenster and you are one of those people who love trying out new products and letting your friends know what is the best of the best, let me know!

I did receive these products complimentary from Influenster.

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas

We got our Christmas tree up finally and our son seems to like it. We decided on an artificial tree this year and we are already missing the smell of a real one. Thank goodness for scentsy and the festival of trees smell ( we just spray it on our tree and BAM smells like Christmas ;) What kind of tree do you use in your house if/when you have toddlers? Real or Fake?

Now it's time to add the ornaments and wrap the presents. We got my son a Mickey doll from the Disney store that is almost the same size as him and I am so excited for him to see it, especially since I know his greatest joy will come from the wrapping paper and boxes everything else is in. If only everyone was so easy to shop for!

We will be hosting our 2nd annual Christmas party next weekend and I will be making an assortment of pinterest inspired gifts for people to take home, I am so excited about it actually. This is on the top of my list:
However I will make it a little more adult inspired and add a bottle of Baileys or Kahlua to mix with the hot chocolate... YUM.

Baby it's getting cold outside....

I did most of my shopping online through amazon. I scored an awesome guitar for my son, some great movies for my lovely other half (some of them he's already got to open- Dark Knight Blu-Ray Triology?) and some stuff for myself ;). It's so crazy to me to see so many "must-have" toys that are toy that I wanted/received 10-20 years ago! Furby anyone? Except this furby is much more creepy than the one I used to stuff in my back pack and get yelled at for bringing to school when furby suddenly woke up letting the class know he was hungry. OOPS.

My step-mom gave my son an original tickle me elmo. He's not too sure about it yet, I don't really blame him.

What are the must have toys on your kid's list this year? What are the must have gifts on your list this year?

We want a new vacumm, we are pretty sold on the new Shark vacuum so hopefully santa will deliver it:

I can't believe at 25 years old I am wanting a vacuum, that was never something I thought would be on my holiday list.

We've talked about what I want and I want to know what you want, but I'm also interested on what you do to really bring out the holiday season in your family. My personal favorite thing to do that my mom started with me is to go visit the Christmas angel tree and "adopt" a few kids/buy them things on their wish list. While we may not have much I know we have WAY more than others and I want to show my son that it is important to give back to those less fortunate. If you have a special way you share the holiday spirit in your family please post a comment and let me know, we are always looking for new things to incorporate into our family!

Sorry for the hiatus!

Busy busy busy times, but we are back!

Healthier living, happier living and just in time for the Holidays!

I missed turning to my blog!
