Getting, Getting, Back, Back to blogging, blogging.

I have taken quite the hiatus, but as a new resolution I want to start blogging again. I love blogging when I stick with it, mostly because I love looking back on old things and remembering. I was going to try to use wordpress but their site sucks, blogger is much more user friendly and has way more options.

We are now a family of 4 + cat. We welcomed our gorgeous little girl on March 15th. She is amazing and we are all so in love with her.
We are transitioning over into a fully gluten free household after J being diagnosed with celiac, we figure it'll just be easier if we don't have any gluten in the house. So I will definitely be looking for more recipes if anyone has any to share, I can only pinterest so much.

Okay well I think that's all for tonight.
Day 1.

Pregnancy brain

My friend Ashley the other night told me how she was making stuffed shells and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them, so I decided to make them tonight. After searching for a recipe that didn't seem to crazy I decided to go with tips from the Growing Up Geeky blog, her five ingredients won me over!

I headed to the store bought everything, got home started to prepare everything and realized we left the pasta sauce at the store. After a mild breakdown and wanting to cry (the pregnancy hormones taking over) my wonderful other half went to the store and bought more sauce.

These were so easy to make and hopefully taste better than they look ;) The top 2 are before and the bottom is the finished product, I have a cheese problem obviously.

What did you crave while pregnant?

Head and Shoulders Update

A few months ago I was sent some Head and Shoulders Damage Rescue to test out. I raved and raved about the product, I loved it. Those two bottles lasted me for about 3 months and I have extremely thick hair!

This is what the product looked like for those who don't remember! Anyways, I finally ran out of the product and I have officially found my only negative review about the product. I stopped using it and my scalp issues are back and itchier (not sure if thats a word) than ever! I'm not sure if it's one of those secret side effects that makes you want to buy products continuously but I sure do wish I had some on hand right about now. My scalp has been non stop itchy. I'm going to try a vinegar rinse this weekend and see if that helps.

Just wanted to give everyone an update!

I'll end this post with a picture of our new girls- Since I only introduced them once:

They are the best, I am so in love with them and our son can't get enough of them!

The newest members of our family...

Hello World, Meet Ellie and Chloe.
The two newest members of our family.

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

As much as I don't like the number 13, I'll let it slide.

I don't know what it is about that number, but I just don't like it. I don't know when it started but I just know I don't like it. I remember when I went to get my first license plate for my car they handed me one with a 13 on it and I asked them to switch it because I just felt like it would be bad luck, luckily they did. BUT I will not let my dislike of that ugly number ruin this year or my hopes for it so...

HAPPY 2013!

2012:
-Lennon turned one and has been growing and just such an amazing human being to watch.
-I joined two amazing companies and have seen my sales grow, plus I get to talk about two things that I love and use on a daily basis.
-My relationship is stronger than ever and I am proud to see that we have grown.
-I've learned much more about myself and about life.
-I got a promotion and a raise at my 9-5(or 7-3:30) and I have learned so much within this company.

I really know 2013 will bring so many more blessings to my life. One of the things I am focusing on again is getting healthy, I was doing so good I lost 80 pounds and then the holidays came around and I started slacking so I want to get back on track! One thing I would like to tell you about is Greens a daily vitamin supplement you put in your water:
Build your immunity and it helps with weight loss, click on the picture for more details. It's cheaper and better than the leading alternatives! Plus it's something I use daily.

What are key things that helped you change around your mentatlity in regards to becoming a healthier person? I need any tips I can get to get me back on board!

Thank you to anyone and everyone that checked out my blog in 2012, I know I can be scatterbrained and sometimes lack content but I appreciate every view. I can't wait to see how this grows in 2013!

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas

We got our Christmas tree up finally and our son seems to like it. We decided on an artificial tree this year and we are already missing the smell of a real one. Thank goodness for scentsy and the festival of trees smell (https://ramelle.scentsy.us/Scentsy/Buy/ProductDetails/RS-FOT) we just spray it on our tree and BAM smells like Christmas ;) What kind of tree do you use in your house if/when you have toddlers? Real or Fake?

Now it's time to add the ornaments and wrap the presents. We got my son a Mickey doll from the Disney store that is almost the same size as him and I am so excited for him to see it, especially since I know his greatest joy will come from the wrapping paper and boxes everything else is in. If only everyone was so easy to shop for!

We will be hosting our 2nd annual Christmas party next weekend and I will be making an assortment of pinterest inspired gifts for people to take home, I am so excited about it actually. This is on the top of my list:
However I will make it a little more adult inspired and add a bottle of Baileys or Kahlua to mix with the hot chocolate... YUM.

Baby it's getting cold outside....

I did most of my shopping online through amazon. I scored an awesome guitar for my son, some great movies for my lovely other half (some of them he's already got to open- Dark Knight Blu-Ray Triology?) and some stuff for myself ;). It's so crazy to me to see so many "must-have" toys that are toy that I wanted/received 10-20 years ago! Furby anyone? Except this furby is much more creepy than the one I used to stuff in my back pack and get yelled at for bringing to school when furby suddenly woke up letting the class know he was hungry. OOPS.

My step-mom gave my son an original tickle me elmo. He's not too sure about it yet, I don't really blame him.

What are the must have toys on your kid's list this year? What are the must have gifts on your list this year?

We want a new vacumm, we are pretty sold on the new Shark vacuum so hopefully santa will deliver it:

I can't believe at 25 years old I am wanting a vacuum, that was never something I thought would be on my holiday list.

We've talked about what I want and I want to know what you want, but I'm also interested on what you do to really bring out the holiday season in your family. My personal favorite thing to do that my mom started with me is to go visit the Christmas angel tree and "adopt" a few kids/buy them things on their wish list. While we may not have much I know we have WAY more than others and I want to show my son that it is important to give back to those less fortunate. If you have a special way you share the holiday spirit in your family please post a comment and let me know, we are always looking for new things to incorporate into our family!

Holiday shopping?

I can't believe that Christmas is less than two months away, this year went by so fast. I say that every year but I think since having a child time goes by even faster. I try to cherish every moment even more!

It's funny too me that the Furby is predicted to be one of the hottest toys of the holiday season, I remember when I was in elementary school my step mom worked at Wal-Mart and she got me one at midnight the day they came out. I'm pretty sure she came home battered and bruised good thing she is no longer a retail employee. What I find the most funny is how things always come back around. Don't know what a furby is.... I don't know that you want to know, but if you do you can check it out by clicking on the picture:

These things are going from $50-$90 and they are already selling out! Seems like the earlier 90's all over again!

On that note, I have mentioned before that I am a Scentsy Consultant and starting today until December 31st or supplies run out, Scentsy has buy one get one free Scentsy Buddies! My son loves his Ribbert Frog buddy with the newborn nursery pak and it smells SO GOOD. So with this deal you get 2 buddies and 2 scent paks for only $25! Such a great deal, you can check out all the details below:

What is your favorite part about the holiday season? I am so excited to bake some healthy versions of the holiday favorites and spend time with family. Last year my son was too little to realize what was going on but this year I know he will be SO excited!

Happy Hump-Day!

Sunday Funday!

This is such a clever idea, instead of using a calendar buy a frame from walmart/target that has 8 openings. Inside the frames put some kind of pattern (you could use scrap booking paper, or old fabric you have laying around). Then each week write out your schedule on the glass using a dry erase marker! SO cute and so easy! Plus you can have you kids help you write out their weeks!

Superpoints Sunday

So, I know most of us are always wondering how we can earn money on the internet. One of my favorite websites is Superpoints. It's free to join and it's so SIMPLE. All you do is log in every day and click the super lucky button and see what points you win!

Superpoints also sends out daily e-mails that contain points in them. Once you get a certain amount of points you can trade them in for a huge variety of prizes such as Ipod nanos, gift cards, paypal cash! You can also earn more points by referring your friends to join, the more friends you have that join the more clicks you get on the button. Again this is 100% free, if you are already spending time on the internet why not do this?

loss...

On Wednesday my mom called me to let me know that my great uncle had Alzheimer's  and wasn't doing good. It was upsetting but we figured we would still have a few more months with him which was good news. My mom spoke with him the next day and he knew who she was and told him she could come visit, seemed to be in good spirits. That gave us more hope, we still have time he knows what's going on. My mom was going to go visit him in a few days.

This morning Mom mom called me, we'd only been up a few minutes, I was trying to change the baby and wake up. My mom let me know that my uncle had been put on hospice and  that he wasn't doing good. Such a fast turn, quite confusing. At this point, I just wanted to speak to my grandma that was her twin brother and only sibling. I called her and she was crying, at that point I lost it, I just felt so bad for her because I knew how much she was hurting. Then, I picked up the phone and called my Uncle who I haven't spoken too in 8 years, after he told me "i would amount to nothing"... I just wanted him to make sure he got ahold of my grandma because him and my grandma's brother both have the same first name and all my other uncle's knew and had talked to my grandpa. I let my Uncle know to call my grandma and then hung up the phone, I didn't even recognize the man on the other line, but I couldn't think about it. We went out for breakfast after that...

My mom called during breakfast and stated that her cousin said they could come see my great uncle and she could bring my uncle but that they needed to come fast. A few hours later my mom called back and told me he just looked like he was sleeping and it was peaceful. My mom then let me know she was going to go get my grandma so she could come up and see her brother. Then, about 2 hours later my mom called me and let me know that my  great uncle had passed. How did this happen? So fast? I called my Uncle and let him know as well as my cousin. Now my mom is still traveling down to be with her mom.

So today we will be mourning the loss of my Great Uncle. A graduate of UofA, a world traveler, a man who lived his life to the fullest. I am so happy he got to meet Lennon and I'm so happy to have had him in my life for as much time as I have.

My posts may be limited this week, but I will do what I can.

Happy Humpday

To those who aren't into Thursday yet! Sorry for the lack of posts and updates this week as been hectic, work has been busy, my work at home job with It Works has been super busy and my son is getting in two new teeth! So needless to say it's been a little chaotic!

BUT it's almost the weekend! My dad is coming to town to visit us and hopefully we can get some of my son's pictures done to send with his invitations! I've found a couple gluten free bakeries to do his smash cake, that's really the only thing I'll be spending money on, everything else will be D.I.Y!

What did you do for your kid's first birthday? Low Key or All Out?

On that note I wanted to leave you with some amazing results one of my customer's experienced recently, only three weeks of using our products and her body has changed dramatically:

Check the products out see what interests you, ask questions. These products work I know from first hand experience, I use It's Vital daily, I use the defining gel about every other day and I try to use the ultimate body applicators "wraps" if I have them on hand.
