Go, Go, Go!

Have I mentioned how much I love Influenster? Free full sized products to spread the word about and review? I recently received the biggest Vox Box (what they call their boxes) yet! It is called to Go Vox Box... You can see the openings of my Vox Box here http://instagram.com/p/oRl6Pnr7gd/ and http://instagram.com/p/oRniydr7iv/ here!

So I came home to a huge box that looked a little something like this:
and because most vox boxes are this size:
I was definitely excited to get it open. When I did get it opened I was not at all upset about the amount of products there were to test and most likely fall in love with.
The box included the following items:
  • ProFoot Pedi-Rock
  • ProFoot Orthotic
  • Free coupon for a Mueller greek yogurt
  • 3 samples or The VitaminShoppes Fit N' Full Shakes
  • A Jaxx Shaker Bottle
  • A Box of Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons
  • Package of Blue Diamond Blueberry Almonds
  • Aqua Spa bath soak.
So MANY products, I will be doing reviews on each of them so you can learn about them. I can tell you I've already tried the Pedi-Rock and the Aqua Spa bath soak and I have great things to say about both of them!

If you want an invite to influenster just leave your email!

Well Hello December.

Okay, Okay... Being a mom to a 2 year old, working a full time job and being pregnant, is a lot of work. I didn't even realize I haven't made any posts since the beginning of October. A few things that have happened:

1. We found out what we will be adding to our family:

A little Princess will be joining our family in March!

2. I turned 26 and want to know where the time has gone.

3. I have received so many products to test and blog about but my bouts of all day pregnancy sickness mixed with work have made it so hard to do.

4. We found this little guy, all a mess, no one claimed him after searching for his home. So he has a new home, here, our son loves him and he is like the best behaved dog. This is him after a much needed bath:
We have no idea what he is, how old he is, or what his back story is. But he seems happy so far. We are still trying to think of a name, it changes almost every day and he is getting ready to go to the groomer.

5. My other half's photography business has been booming around the holidays which is nice, we are excited to provide a good Christmas and build up our savings so I don't have to go back to the work after March. *Fingers Crossed*

I will post my product reviews throughout the week! I hope this time of the year is treating everyone awesome!

Easy Easy Easy

Well Veet, I was unsure and you have showed me how simple and easy you can be. Simple and easy in the good way not in the trashy HBO sort of way. I had never waxed any part of my body other than facial parts and then I received this in the mail:
Whattttt is that I thought, obviously not for my fax. Leg waxing... you want me to put hot stuff on my legs and rip my hair out? OR my bikini area... Isn't my razor good enough?

I read over the description, instructions and some reviews online. Most of the feedback is that people were loving it. I did see on first timer with a video who looked to be in enough pain to scare you away. Again we are talking about waxing people. Seeing the girls reaction in the video made me think of the Bathroom Scene from "What Women Want" where Mel Gibson attempts to wax his legs
So I was a little terrified. I let my hair on my legs grow for almost a week then decided to give it a go. The bikini area was not going to happen. So you take the wax cartridge and place it in the container, plug the container in and let it heat up until you can roll it on a piece of paper with even distribution. I believe instructions said about 45 minutes mine took a little over an hour. You apply the wax on your legs and then use a white strip to pull it off, OUCH. The first few were so painful, plus i couldn't seem to get all the hairs off. However after about 45 minutes on my first leg it seemed to be as good as it was going to get. They give you these awesome little cloths to rub on your legs when you are done to remove any access wax and it leaves your legs feeling all nice and soft.

So the next day I wake up and see 1, 2, 10 ... more than 10 red bumps on my legs mind you I had done an allergy test so I knew it wasn't that, but I was super freaked out. I reached out to one of my esthetics friends who informed me that when people wax an area for the first time this can happen and it usually will go away after a day or two. It was gone by the next day, thank goodness. It's been about a week now and still no sign of re growth. I would really like to try the products for your face save me so much money.

The Veet Easy Wax system runs about $29-$39 from what I can see but you should be able to get quite a few applications from it, saving yourself the money of going to a salon. I can't wait to try it again, I'm sure it's a practice makes perfect sort of thing. I would give the product a 7/10, because of the time it took to heat up and do one leg, we will see if that changes this next time around.

The soap for ladies who don't want chipped nails?

I received another wonderful package today courtesy of Influenster and Palmolive. The package contained two full size bottles of Palmolive soft touch. The product card states these are designed to be soft on your hands while still providing powerful grease cutting action! For anyone who does their own dishes a lot or has worked in any job where you had to wash dishes, you know how awesome good soap is! Looking at the Influenster site it even wants us to test how our manicures look after washing the dishes! So I will have to put that to the test!
I received the Palmolive Soft Touch with aloe and the Palmolive Soft Touch with Vitamin E. I have received a few comments on my instagram feed already asking how people can join this awesome site and test products themselves. Unfortunately I am out of invites myself but maybe after Influenster see's people want to join they will give me some more and I will share them with you all!

Head and Shoulders Update

A few months ago I was sent some Head and Shoulders Damage Rescue to test out. I raved and raved about the product, I loved it. Those two bottles lasted me for about 3 months and I have extremely thick hair!

This is what the product looked like for those who don't remember! Anyways, I finally ran out of the product and I have officially found my only negative review about the product. I stopped using it and my scalp issues are back and itchier (not sure if thats a word) than ever! I'm not sure if it's one of those secret side effects that makes you want to buy products continuously but I sure do wish I had some on hand right about now. My scalp has been non stop itchy. I'm going to try a vinegar rinse this weekend and see if that helps.

Just wanted to give everyone an update!

I'll end this post with a picture of our new girls- Since I only introduced them once:

They are the best, I am so in love with them and our son can't get enough of them!

Yes Please!

So I am STILL dealing with my sinus infection, fun fun fun. But I had a very pleasant find at CVS today.... I'm sure some of you saw my post earlier this month letting you know about my Influenster Sweet Heart Vox Box. My favorite product from that box is the Olay Fresh Effects System, the more I use it the more I LOVE it. My skin is changing for the better and I am left a lot less oily (in my T-Zone!). Well today I stopped by CVS and found these:

This was the first time I had seen the fresh effects products in stores! Normally these tubes are $7.99 each, but they were on sale for $3.99 each! So I bought two of the Bead Me Up and Shine Shine Go Away. Both are cleansers and can be used with my fresh effects system brush (or without it). The Shine Shine Go Away is what I received in my box, so I am excited to try out the bead me up!

So If you are in need of a new skin cleansing routine or product I would suggest RUNNING to a local CVS and seeing if you can find this deal! I love it! Thank you Influenster for introducing me to this product!

Dear Bethenny Frankel

Thank you for creating Skinnygirl! Sincerely, Me.

But on a serious note, I was recently given the opportunity to try out this Skinnygirl daily on the go bar. I was so excited to see this product in my sweet heart vox box from influenster as I am a big fan of Skinnygirl Margarita's, however I was a little disappointed when I saw the flavor. Coco-nut... Coco-nut.... I hate coconut... But Ms. Frankel wouldn't steer me wrong would she?! No she definitely wouldn't. I decided to try the bar and I was in love immediately. The coconut flavor was mild enough and mixed with peanut butter it was SO DELICIOUS! I went straight online to http://www.skinnygirldaily.com/ to see how I could order more! I am so in love with these bars, the only down side for me was the price. Being a one income family these are a little pricey but if you think of it as a meal replacement it's not as bad. I would definitely recommend trying these out for anyone who has a sweet tooth but is still trying to stay healthy! They also have Banana Oatmeal Dark Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Multi Grain Pretzel and Greek Yogurt Blueberry crisp flavors! Yum Yum Yum!

Fresh Face Friday

So while my son is refusing to go to sleep, I decided I will update you on my recent trial of Olay Fresh Effects courtesy of my Influenster Vox Box!

I have been trying so hard lately to get into a good face washing routine, especially since summer is coming up. However, I've been having such a hard time finding a product I like, I've tried everything from brands such as Lush to Target's generic brand. So, I was pretty happy to find this in my vox box. The little tool you see on the right is the actually massaging cleanser- and it vibrates REALLY strong, but it feels great on your face. It's very simple and it left my face feeling SO SO SO soft the next day, I am so impressed. This is by far my favorite product out of my Vox Box so far, it's one I will be repurchasing when I am done.

Love love love this, thank you Olay and Influenster.

Dry Scalp

So since I was about 16 I have hated to wear black shirts mostly in fear of those little white flakes showing up. When I was a teenager it was much more embarassing however even as an adult it's still not too pleasant. With dark hair it's much more noticeable nad you can only use the "oh it must be my hairspray clumping" excuse so many times.

SO when I received my most recent box courtesy of Influenster I was so excited to open it up and see two full size bottles of Head & Shoulders damager rescue. I have tried EVERYTHING from vinegar to egg yolks to almost every dandruff shampoo you can buy and still I can't seem to kick the dry scalp.

I am super excited to try this product out and let you know how it turns out. Do you suffer from dry scalp? How do you deal with it?

Also if you have not heard of Influenster and you are one of those people who love trying out new products and letting your friends know what is the best of the best, let me know!

I did receive these products complimentary from Influenster.
