Go, Go, Go!

Have I mentioned how much I love Influenster? Free full sized products to spread the word about and review? I recently received the biggest Vox Box (what they call their boxes) yet! It is called to Go Vox Box... You can see the openings of my Vox Box here http://instagram.com/p/oRl6Pnr7gd/ and http://instagram.com/p/oRniydr7iv/ here!

So I came home to a huge box that looked a little something like this:
and because most vox boxes are this size:
I was definitely excited to get it open. When I did get it opened I was not at all upset about the amount of products there were to test and most likely fall in love with.
The box included the following items:
  • ProFoot Pedi-Rock
  • ProFoot Orthotic
  • Free coupon for a Mueller greek yogurt
  • 3 samples or The VitaminShoppes Fit N' Full Shakes
  • A Jaxx Shaker Bottle
  • A Box of Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons
  • Package of Blue Diamond Blueberry Almonds
  • Aqua Spa bath soak.
So MANY products, I will be doing reviews on each of them so you can learn about them. I can tell you I've already tried the Pedi-Rock and the Aqua Spa bath soak and I have great things to say about both of them!

If you want an invite to influenster just leave your email!

Getting, Getting, Back, Back to blogging, blogging.

I have taken quite the hiatus, but as a new resolution I want to start blogging again. I love blogging when I stick with it, mostly because I love looking back on old things and remembering. I was going to try to use wordpress but their site sucks, blogger is much more user friendly and has way more options.

We are now a family of 4 + cat. We welcomed our gorgeous little girl on March 15th. She is amazing and we are all so in love with her.
We are transitioning over into a fully gluten free household after J being diagnosed with celiac, we figure it'll just be easier if we don't have any gluten in the house. So I will definitely be looking for more recipes if anyone has any to share, I can only pinterest so much.

Okay well I think that's all for tonight.
Day 1.

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

Well Hello December.

Okay, Okay... Being a mom to a 2 year old, working a full time job and being pregnant, is a lot of work. I didn't even realize I haven't made any posts since the beginning of October. A few things that have happened:

1. We found out what we will be adding to our family:

A little Princess will be joining our family in March!

2. I turned 26 and want to know where the time has gone.

3. I have received so many products to test and blog about but my bouts of all day pregnancy sickness mixed with work have made it so hard to do.

4. We found this little guy, all a mess, no one claimed him after searching for his home. So he has a new home, here, our son loves him and he is like the best behaved dog. This is him after a much needed bath:
We have no idea what he is, how old he is, or what his back story is. But he seems happy so far. We are still trying to think of a name, it changes almost every day and he is getting ready to go to the groomer.

5. My other half's photography business has been booming around the holidays which is nice, we are excited to provide a good Christmas and build up our savings so I don't have to go back to the work after March. *Fingers Crossed*

I will post my product reviews throughout the week! I hope this time of the year is treating everyone awesome!

Pregnancy brain

My friend Ashley the other night told me how she was making stuffed shells and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them, so I decided to make them tonight. After searching for a recipe that didn't seem to crazy I decided to go with tips from the Growing Up Geeky blog, her five ingredients won me over!

I headed to the store bought everything, got home started to prepare everything and realized we left the pasta sauce at the store. After a mild breakdown and wanting to cry (the pregnancy hormones taking over) my wonderful other half went to the store and bought more sauce.

These were so easy to make and hopefully taste better than they look ;) The top 2 are before and the bottom is the finished product, I have a cheese problem obviously.

What did you crave while pregnant?

Lovey-Love-Love Envelopes

Ignore the title, unless you are a mom and watch too much yo gabba gabba like we do in my house, it's a Roots reference ;).

Okay so I told you all in my last post that I would be attempting to mend my relationship and make it the best it could be. So I came up with the "Lovey-Love-Love Envelopes" and to start it off I also hid this circle I made with a ton of memories in his Superman Hot Toys toy because I know he looks at it like 10000 times a day. Funny enough it took me having to give him a hint for him to even see it.

I put the rules/explanation of the envelopes and envelope #1 in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, again he missed these even though he went in the cabinet at least twice before he found it.

Sorry for my horrible hand writing but it says:
  • You will receive 1 envelope a day.
  • Do not question what's inside it, it will be FUN! :)
  • You can have 3 rain checks per month (must be used in 30 days)
  • Envelope activities may be canceled if sick for some TLC!
Envelope #1 was two "tickets" to a movie, most of the things we do will be on a budget since we are expecting baby #2 and we had free movie passes laying around. I arranged for my mom to watch our son and we went and saw a super grown up movie.... Despicable Me 2. It was nice to just go out with each other for a few hours and the movie was cute, not as good as number one but still a feel good movie.

I hid envelope #2 in the fridge, again... my hiding spots apparently aren't very easy to find because this took him a while too. This was a voucher for a picnic in the living room set up by me. I had $12 in groupon credit so I used it to get a cousin subs groupon worth for 4 subs, so we got two of them and set up shop in our living room! It was enjoyable to talk and hangout and just spend time together.

So far I think he is appreciating the effort that is going into this! I will post more envelope ideas as they come and go.

Day #1- Movie Out
Day #2- Picnic in the Living Room.

Putting the pages of our fairytale back together...

I met my other half on October 24th,2005. I fell in love with him the moment I met him, I know people say "that's impossible" but it's not. Our friendship grew for the next few months and so did my love for him. Then what I thought we had was gone, he decided to date someone else. I was heartbroken. Absolutely broken.

After that January we did not talk for 7 months until a friend and I went to a concert in California. One of the bands that was playing was a band that was playing the same night we met (which also happened to be one of his favorites), I randomly text him just to tell him they were playing and that the lead singer was standing next to me. We started to talk again and rebuilt our friendship, that November he threw me a "birthday show" with the record label he was running. That night I also met his girlfriend for the first time, I was kind although of course I didn't want to be.

Fast forward through a few years we would talk off and on. Every relationship I had did not work because I compared them all to him. I doomed them all from the beginning, but I was having fun so it was okay. Then I hear him and his girlfriend broke up, he text me heartbroken about the whole thing. He had text me about problems in their relationship before (and as a friend I would always try to help), but he said this time it was over. He went through some hard stuff for the next few months I tried to be a friend when he would let me.

One night when he seemed to be happier he came and visited me at a friends house, we sat outside and just talked as friends, but that was it. A few times here and there he then tried to pursue things with me but I just couldn't let my guard down. I was too scared of what I felt for him, always. I started dating this guy I met through a friend, he lived in California and I was here in Arizona. It moved really fast and freaked me out. He really cared for me and It was just a lot for me, I ended up breaking it off with him after a month and a half. Very soon after that ended and while said Californian was still trying to win me back, my other half text me and asked if we could hangout. I was elated and posted something on a social network about it, even then my Californian knew somehow that he was something to be worried about, because he text my best friend and asked about my other half.

So we went out to dinner a salad and some wings (i believe) then we went to a park and hung out and talked, he explained his feelings for me and I told him if we tried something I would make him work for it and it wouldn't be easy. I really didn't make things easy, I was still going out with my friends almost every weekend, expecting him to stay with me whenever I wanted him to and generally stressing him out. He still wanted to be with me, we eventually broke up for about two days. During this time I went out of town to visit my dad only to find out through a social network update that he had hung out with his ex girlfriend (the one that was the reason we weren't together years before) and I was devastated. He said it was just for closure because they had not talked in years, but I know girls and I know they don't just show up out of the blue for nothing. We got back together and she ended up showing up at an event he was at a few times. We had a few fun months after that.

Then came August and I was pregnant, it was fast but we had known each other for so long and I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. We were happy, shortly after we found out I started bleeding, I knew this pregnancy wasn't going to be okay but I was hopeful. We saw the little heartbeat multiple times. One day at work I started bleeding lots and lots of blood I headed to the hospital I was sure I had lost the baby, I got to the hospital they checked my cervix it was still closed, they did an ultrasound and baby was still there heartbeat going and all. I was so happy. Two weeks later I started bleeding again, went to my obgyn who sent me to the emergency room. After a few hours at the emergency room with my mom they confirmed the baby no longer had a heartbeat, it was heartbreaking. This brought my other half and I closer together. We ended up pregnant a month later and now we have our beautiful two year old son and are expecting another baby in March.

Throughout the past two years and through our relationship everything has been so hectic, I have not shown my other half the love he deserves. He did everything for me, surprised me with flowers, notes left in secret places, surprise dinners plus he has been an amazing father. I do love him more than anything or anyone. However through all our fights and stress and life I have not shown him, which leads him to feel like the love is not there or as strong as the claims I make.

So starting today, I am pledging to rebuild my relationship one step at a time. I want him to know he is the most important thing and the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I will attempt to update you along on my journey. I just want to show him how grateful I am that he is in my life and that there is no one else I would rather be with even if we disagree, don't like the same music and can drive each other crazy, he is the love of my life. I want to fix our fairytale I only want this to be a happy ending, the happiest ending really.

Sorry for the MIA and here we go again...

Sorry again for disappearing once I was starting to post more frequently. BUT I started getting sick all the time, couldn't sleep, then slept too much... Why? Because we are officially expecting number 2! The little one is set to make their arrival on March 18th 2014, which also happens to be our 4 year anniversary. We are SO excited and hoping for a girl this time around.

My first pregnancy (which I lost at 9 weeks) I was sick all the time. Then two months later I was pregnant with my son and had the easiest pregnancy ever! This little one, not so much, we found out at about 3 weeks and I have been sick ever since, I will be 15 weeks on Tuesday. I have been on Zofran which caused some not so fun side effects, so recently I switched to Unisom and it seems to be semi helping.

Now that I am starting to feel semi like a normal person I will resume posting, I have reviews from influenster I need to get up, catch ups on life (2nd birthdays!) and other rambling!

Thank you again for those that have stuck around (or clicked here from pinterest)!

You're not a standup guy today, Pat!

"The only way you can beat my crazy was by doing something crazy yourself. Thank you. I love you. I knew it the minute I met you. I'm sorry it took so long for me to catch up. I just got stuck."

  • Officially one of my new favorite movies
  • Officially more in love with Jennifer Lawrence
  • Robert DeNiro, Bradley Cooper, Julia Stiles, Chris Tucker... How could you go wrong.

You know you're a mom when...

It takes you about 6 hours to watch a two hour movie.... Today I watched What to Expect When You're Expecting. While I'm not a big J.Lo or Cameron Diaz fan, this movie was adorable (thank you Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick). I cried alot, again a mom thing. But I would suggest it my lovely other half caught the last half of it and he even liked it.

This promo shot is adorable.

It seems like EVERYONE appears in this movie, from your favorite music teacher on Glee to Dennis Quaid. There are even Jimmy Buffet references. One of the best parts of this movie:
Rebel Wilson. Now I am a 50/50 fan of Rebel, sometimes she annoys the CRAP out of me and sometimes she cracks me up. This is one of the times where she cracked me up, she just seemed like that great best friend/employee who will always have your back.

One of the worst parts of the movie:
This story. I could be a little bias because I absolutely adore Anna Kendrick and well I'm a gossip girl fan so I also love Chace Crawford. Their story hit me hard, I cried. Being a mother who has suffered a miscarriage before I could feel her pain. Plus how cute would their baby have been? I know I know it's just a movie, but seriously.

Anyways, if you are in need of a good chick flick (that could be for the guys too) I would definitely suggest watching this.

New favorite

If you are like me and suffer from mild rosacea and/or skin tone difference on your face you understand the frustration of trying to make your skin look even. You may have to use different color foundations, which can be costly, or you just try to blend blend blend. Well recently my SO's brother's girlfriend brought me a ton of samples, she is an esthetician at Estee Lauder. One of the first things I decided to try to use was the Skin tone correcting serum by Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins. A normal size bottle will run you about $45-$65 and looks like this:

I used the .05 oz sample which lasted me about 3 days (morning and night) all over my face. I wish I had taken a before and after because I am so amazed with the results. No more red checks, no more splotches on my face, my skin is already all the same tone. It is AMAZING, I sent her a text and said "if you get anymore of the skin tone correcting serum samples send them my way I'm OBSESSED". That is truly the word Obsessed, this product is so amazing and it helps someone like me who had amazing skin until pregnancy, start to feel more confident. If I go outside now without foundation/powder I do not feel self conscience about the different skin tones on my face and whether people notice or not. My skin and my hair were always something I could be proud of and after getting pregnant with my son it was something I struggled with.

If you have skin problems I would definitely recommend checking out this line, while It might cost you a little more it is great quality and a little definitely goes a long way.

I am seriously the worst secret keeper.

So we have a secret, we are keeping.. or attempting to. But i'm pretty sure I give it away daily with my tiredness, bloating and moodswings. Plus the fact that my appetite is off the chart. Good thing no one I know reads my blog.

How do you keep a secret? Are you the one in your family that spills the beans about things?

It's been raining for 3 days in Arizona and the temperatures haven't reached the 100s which has been nice, but frankly all I want to do is sleep.

Sorry again for my lack of posts, I will be back at it soon. After I stop stressing about gaining back all the weight I've lost and worrying about things not going as planned. My name is Ramelle and I'm a worry wart who can't keep a secret.

Where did you go weekend? I'm missing you already

It's already Sunday night, which means back to the 9 to 5 tomorrow (or 6:30 to 3 in my case). We had a busy weekend and the heat took it out of us, I don't feel like I was able to accomplish half of what I wanted to but that's what happens when you are a mom right? Right. Here are some pictures from yesterday, one of my best friend's daughter had her 4th Birthday party at the Phoenix Zoo.
My favorite picture of the day, D showing "Lemon" some of the cool stuff such as a starfish skeleton. She is so good with him and they love eachother.

He was petting the sting rays when one decided to Say Hi? with a huge splash, it soaked him and freaked me out. I think my reaction made him swear off sting ray's for a while. He was DRIPPING water it was one of those I shouldn't be laughing, but I can't help it moments.

Why use a spoon when I can use my mouth? The life of having a little boy is so fun and crazy. He is all boy and loves messes.

And lastly:

When all the kids are supposed to make a monkey visor and you have to help your 21 month old with his. Then you get shown up by all kids ages (2-12) and your monkey is the only one missing an eye and part of an ear. Sorry Lennon, mom apparently isn't good at arts and crafts.

Sometimes we have to put our 25 year old duties aside to enjoy and cherish the ones we love. I am so blessed to have this little man he is so fun!

Oh Kevin Costner, don't you do that again.....

Man of Steel spoiler alert!

So Jacob is a huge comic book buff one of his passions and superman is his favorite, he got me hooked on Smallville but we ran out of time to watch it. He went with his brother and some friends to the midnight showing of man of steel and loved it, but told me "it's no shock that Jonathan Kent dies, everyone knows that". I was like... wait I didn't know that.... wait isn't Jonathan Kent played by Kevin Costner. Now, I love Kevin Costner, he is the grandpa/dad just great actor who for someone reason I have some sort of attachment to. Whether it's field of dreams or the guardian or really anything in between I love him.

So we had some free movie passes I had won from my day job and a baby sitter so we decided to go see Man of Steel, I went into this knowing that Jonathan Kent dies, however the scene where the tornado gets him... tears. Tears filled my eyes and I just wanted it to not be real. Poor Clark, Poor Kevin, I just didn't like it. I really don't think I ever want to watch another movie where Kevin Costner dies in a horrible tragic way. My heart can't take it Kevin, it can't. So really this post was in tribute to Mr. Costner, you are just wonderful.

Okay I have settled down.

Happy Saturday!

Happy Friday

My son and I are hanging out while daddy is out at a photo shoot that will be tonight and tomorrow morning. My other half is normally the stay at home parent so I think our son gets confused when mommy is the one home not working! Shameless shoutout for my other half's photography page:
https://www.facebook.com/jaykgrittmanphotography

I love that he is so creative and has so many passions he has been doing photography for about 10 years now and loves it.
So the other night I did my first "cat lady" post and I got about 3 times as many views on that post as I have ever had on ANY other post, SO from now on I will probably end each posts with some cats for the cat lady in all of us!

Thank you all for the recent views, I would love to read your favorite blogs (or maybe your own blog), leave a comment with a link!

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!

Room 8

I was browsing stumble upon today after watching the Jodi Arias lifetime movie (which is a whole lot of not good feeling) and came across one of the sweetest wikipedia articles. You can read the article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Room_8 but essentially it is about a cat who adopted a school and who everyone fell in love with. This reminds me so much of my cat Danjo because he adopted us and the love is so much different when an animal chooses your to be it's family. One day my mom and I were enjoying a cooler Arizona evening and we had our door open and in walked this cat and he just plopped right down on the tile, every day he kept coming back so we decided to name him and keep him. We moved and were afraid he would go back to his old home when we did but he never left, he was the best pet I have ever had and was so full of love.

Here are some pictures of the room 8 cat, it is such a sweet story:

Feel good about yourself!

So this is us, we got hair cuts last night! Luckily that handsome man does PR work for an amazing salon in Scottsdale. The owner gave us these great cuts and next month we are going for color! But this is what my hair looks like now, please don't mind my makeup less face:

He also gave me tips on curling my hair this is just 10 curls in my hair and it looked so great. He also used Neuma products on my hair, not only do the Neuma products feel great on your hair but, NEUMA products feature:
ZERO…
  • synthetic fragrance
  • sulfates
  • parabens
  • 1,4-dioxane
  • phthalates
  • glutens
  • neurotoxins
  • aluminum compounds
  • glycols*
  • formaldehyde donors
  • ureas
  • carcinogens
I will be researching the line a little more and I was lucky enough to bring some of their leave in conditioner home, hoping that it will tame my wild hair!

I am also currently enjoying the skinny girl cleanse and restore packets, they come in a box like this:
I got them for free from Skinny Girl along with a few other great products. There is a lot of complaints on the product mostly about the consistency and flavor but neither of them bother me. The product definitely makes you more regular but it also gives you a nice energy feeling. The best part is the product is all natural and gluten free. You can get more info on these and other skinny girl daily products at http://www.skinnygirldaily.com/shop/products/Skinnygirl-Daily-Cleanse-and-Restore-.html

Easy Easy Easy

Well Veet, I was unsure and you have showed me how simple and easy you can be. Simple and easy in the good way not in the trashy HBO sort of way. I had never waxed any part of my body other than facial parts and then I received this in the mail:
Whattttt is that I thought, obviously not for my fax. Leg waxing... you want me to put hot stuff on my legs and rip my hair out? OR my bikini area... Isn't my razor good enough?

I read over the description, instructions and some reviews online. Most of the feedback is that people were loving it. I did see on first timer with a video who looked to be in enough pain to scare you away. Again we are talking about waxing people. Seeing the girls reaction in the video made me think of the Bathroom Scene from "What Women Want" where Mel Gibson attempts to wax his legs
So I was a little terrified. I let my hair on my legs grow for almost a week then decided to give it a go. The bikini area was not going to happen. So you take the wax cartridge and place it in the container, plug the container in and let it heat up until you can roll it on a piece of paper with even distribution. I believe instructions said about 45 minutes mine took a little over an hour. You apply the wax on your legs and then use a white strip to pull it off, OUCH. The first few were so painful, plus i couldn't seem to get all the hairs off. However after about 45 minutes on my first leg it seemed to be as good as it was going to get. They give you these awesome little cloths to rub on your legs when you are done to remove any access wax and it leaves your legs feeling all nice and soft.

So the next day I wake up and see 1, 2, 10 ... more than 10 red bumps on my legs mind you I had done an allergy test so I knew it wasn't that, but I was super freaked out. I reached out to one of my esthetics friends who informed me that when people wax an area for the first time this can happen and it usually will go away after a day or two. It was gone by the next day, thank goodness. It's been about a week now and still no sign of re growth. I would really like to try the products for your face save me so much money.

The Veet Easy Wax system runs about $29-$39 from what I can see but you should be able to get quite a few applications from it, saving yourself the money of going to a salon. I can't wait to try it again, I'm sure it's a practice makes perfect sort of thing. I would give the product a 7/10, because of the time it took to heat up and do one leg, we will see if that changes this next time around.

Last Minute is my nickname...

..... I love being on a schedule, I hate being late places and I hate last minute unexpected pressure full events. Well my lovely other half turns 26 this weekend and on his actual birthday he is spending the day taking free pictures to celebrate his 10 year anniversary of doing photography. We have been low on funds so I didn't really think to plan anything, but then today I got a little crazy in me and decided something has to be done, I mean it's a birthday! What kind of birthday is it without a party of some sort. Last year we had a baby sitter, went to the bowling alley with some friends and had a few drinks.

Now, hopefully my other half isn't reading this and i'm not spoiling anything. J IF YOU ARE READING THIS CLOSE YOUR BROWSER NOW.

Now that that's settled, I messaged his brother and a few of his friends. Luckily some of them have the time off work even though it's only 4 days notice. Our son will be here and I have told people to bring their young ones and we can do some water play, Arizona in June is good for that.... I will attempt to cook a few things on the BBQ and hopefully it will be enjoyable. If not I will just have about 10 glasses of wine and hope I can be productive for his actual birthday.

So wish me luck that it's like this:

and not like this
